Vidhu, who has sung for Mohanlal movies like Thanmaathra, wished a great birthday to the much-loved actor by singing the song ‘

Eeran Megham

,’ from the Mohanlal movie ‘Chithram,’ which was released in 1988. The singer wrote on his page, ‘Nammale Ennum Vismayathumbathu nirthunna abhinayathinte Ravana Prabhuvinu Pirannal Aashamsakal,’ alongside sharing the video of him singing the song.


The song Eeran Megham, which was composed by Kannur Rajan and penned by Shibu Chakravarthy, was sung by M G Sreekumar in the movie. Vidhu starts off from the line ‘Mazha Kaathu’ and goes on to soulfully render the track, taking Mohanlal fans to those nostalgia – triggering films and moments that the actor was part of, in the eighties. Chithram, which also stars actors like Ranjini, Nedumudi Venu, Sreenivsasan, Shanavas, Sukumari, M G Soman and others was directed by Priyadarshan. The film was a huge hit back in the days and M G Sreekumar, who sang ‘Eeran Megham,’ was the voice of most of the songs in the movie, including classical krithis like ‘Swaminatha Paripaalaya Shuma’ and ‘Nagumo Mu Ganale,’ which he sang with veteran Carnatic musician Neyyattinkara Vasudevan, who was a guest singer in the movie. The film was also the comeback project for singer Sujatha Mohan, after a hiatus.
