After teasing the audience with a sneak peek from the film, recently the makers have revealed the identity of lead actress, Bhagyashree Milind who will be portraying the titular role of 'Anandi Gopal' in the film. Marathi diva, Bhagyashree took to her Instagram handle to share the second motion poster of the film, where she revealed that, she will be playing the titular role in the film.
Bhagyashree has impressed the audience with her commendable performance in the film 'Balak‑Palak' and 'Ubuntu' and this role of her is going to be worth watching. In the film, the actress will be playing the role of India's first female doctor, Anandibai Gopalrao Joshi from the erstwhile Bombay presidency of India. The first woman to live abroad in the eighteenth year of her life, the first woman to complete medical education, suffering from depression.


Sameer Vidwans ‘s directorial ‘Anandi Gopal' is produced under the banner of Zee Studios, Fresh Lime Films, and Namah pictures. The film is slated to release on 15 February 2019.
