COVID-19

.
While the entire industry is mourning the loss, among them is

actress Bhargavi Chirmuley

. Bhargavi, who closely worked with her in the movie '

One Room Kitchen

' spoke to us. She says, "It's a very big loss to the entire Marathi industry. She was a very lively person, very positive about everything. Even though she was very senior amongst us she never carried a baggage of seniority. She was very down to earth while talking to all the cast and crew. She was like a grandmother for us who is kind to grandchildren and at same time guiding us on different stages of shoot."


There was a scene in the movie 'One Room Kitchen' which is very close to Bhargavi. She adds "In that scene, Ashalata brings a coconut burfi for me. Later Ashalata promised me to bring some coconut burfi made by her."

While working with her, Bhargavi got to learn many interesting incidents from a late senior artiste. "Along with interesting incidents she also shared the struggle of artistes in early days. Traveling to various cities for theatre shows is easy now but she shared different experiences when they used to travel for theatre shows," Bhargavi adds.

Recently Ashalata was shooting for the TV show ‘

Aai Majhi Kalubai

’. She was one of the 22 members who tested positive on the set of the show.

On work front Bhargavi Chirmuley is essaying the role of Jijamata, mother of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the show ‘Swarajya Janani Jijamata’. She is also a part of an online play ‘Mogara’ directed by Hrishikesh Joshi.
