. I was not expecting this because the nominees were amazing actresses and they have been working for so many years. But when my name was announced it was completely surreal. Because when I was holding the award, I could not believe that I got this"

(Bhagyashree Milind), considered India’s first female doctor. She was born in 1865 and was married off at a young age.

Her husband Gopal Joshi’s (Lalit Prabhakar) resolute wish to get his wife educated, opened up avenues for Anandi to study fearlessly and break social taboos.
