The 66th
National Film Awards
for the year 2018 are announced and many Marathi films, 'Naal', 'Paani', 'Bhonga' and 'Chumbak' have been honoured with the esteemed award. Actor-director, Addinath Kothare whose debut directorial 'Paani' bagged The Best Film on Environment Conversation award. The film is co-produced by
Priyanka Chopra. Apparently, the film story veers around a man living in a village named Nagdarwadi, which is in Maharashtra's drought-prone Marathwada region.
After the announcement was made Addinath, who is busy shooting his upcoming film, '83' in London has expressed his heartfelt gratitude for considering him worthy enough for this prestigious award. Taking to his social media handle, Addinath Kothare shared the video where he said " I have no words to expresses my happiness but I am very grateful to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and all the Jury members of National Award committee for considering our film worthy enough for this prestigious award. I am very grateful to Priyanka Chopra for her support and my team to make this happen"
"I have words to expresse my feelings but I know that our team has worked very hard for this project. And I want to dedicate this award to people like Hanumant Kendre, who are fighting for water," he added.
