Sameer Vidwans' directorial '
Anandi Gopal
' has bagged the prestigious
National Award in two categories — best feature film on
social issues
and
production design
.
In an exclusive chat with Etimes, filmmaker Sameer Vidwans' said "To be honest, I have no words to express my feelings. We are very grateful to the jury for considering our 'Anandi Gopal' on the
National
level"
"I think all filmmakers have a dream that they get a national award for their film. And we have two national awards. So, we are very happy that we got the awards for social issues and production design" Sameer added.
Sameer Vidwans' directorial 'Anandi Gopal' starring
Lalit Prabhakar and Bhagyashree Milind was based on the journey of one of the first female doctors in India.
It also starred
Geetanjali Kulkarni and
Yogesh Soman in pivotal roles. The film was released on February 15, 2019.
