The demise of

ace choreographer Saroj Khan

has saddened the entire film fraternity that has fond

memory

of their beloved ‘

Masterji

’. The popular choreographer breathed her last in the early hours of Friday after suffering a cardiac arrest. Friends and family of the

beloved Saroj

have been expressing their sorrow since then and among them is Bollywood and Marathi cinema's well-known

actress Sonali Kulkarni

who is also heartbroken by the passing away of the veteran artist. While speaking exclusively to ETimes, Sonali expressed her grief.

Sonali said, "I met Saroj ji during the shooting of Amol Palekar's 1997 film 'Daayraa'. We were shooting this film in Orrisa and I was told that Saroj ji will be choreographing the song and I was very scared. I had heard that she is the most famous and very strict choreographer in the industry. I must say that she was a perfectionist. I have always shared a very warm bond with her. People do tell stories of Saroj ji getting angry on the set. Thankfully, I never experience that unnecessarily."

The actress added, "I am very lucky that I got an opportunity to work with her. She was the first person whom I saw using a mobile phone during the '90s. She also choreographed an item song for the film which was very unusual for a 90's film."

Sonali further said, "The term 'Masterji' has gone with her. Because she was one of the best teachers in the industry. She had great respect for those artists who work with passion because she was extremely passionate. I knew that she was unwell but her sudden demise has definitely brought a sense of loss of a very good part of yourself."
