Known for various roles from TV to cinema Subodh Bhave has inspired many. But what inspired the actor is a book he read in childhood. He read books on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He met the warrior king through books and after that his entire life changed. He happened to read book 'Raja Shivchatrapati' by Babasaheb Purandare when he was in eighth standard. Sharing about it he says "I have been reading about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in text book but the book gave me detailed insight in the life of the king. The book increased curiosity in me and I started reading about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj more and more. This gave direction to my life.' (Pic-Instagram)

According to Chinmay Mandlekar, writer, actor, director who is an avid reader, books are the greatest inspiration for him. He has been reading books since childhood. Naming one favorite book is difficult for him as he like many. "If I have to name one book which I like most is 'Pu La- Ek Sathavan'. The book is very close to my heart. This is the first book I have read by the author Pu La Deshpande. I got this book from father and I still have the copy with me. Pu La Deshpande's life gives me inspiration. He had different perspective to look at the things and his writing has given me different vision too." (Pic-Instagram)

Actor Ashwini Kasar presently essaying the role of Savitribai Phule, social reformer and educationalist who regarded as the first female teacher of India in show ‘Savitrijyoti’. The actress is fascinated by book 'Mrutunjay' written by Shivaji Sawant so much so that she has read the book seven times so far. "This is a beautiful book. The book also inspired me to know more about Mahabharat. The writer has interestingly presented different characters. As an actor the book helps me to understand psychology of different characters. Till I read this book I was proud of my reading habit but this book taught me many more things about reading. After reading this I got to know what exactly the insightful reading is. The actress who is presently essaying the character of the Jijamata, mother of warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in a show 'Swarajyajanani Jijamata' derives inspiration from books. Busy with the scheduled she couldn't read much but the lockdown came to her rescue. "In lockdown I read many books which I had bought and couldn't read. Writer Pu La Deshpande's books helped me to pick up reading as habit during early days of life. Books like 'Apurvai', 'Batyatachi Chal' and 'Asa Mi Asa Mi' among others are my favorite and I have read these books multiple times. My one of the favorite books is 'Vyakti Ani Valli', different characters in the book not only inspire us but also share interesting insight about life.
