While speaking about his role, Dushyant said, "This will be my first film in lead role. When Akhil Desai told me about this movie, I agreed without a moment's delay. This is the story of a boy who rejects the scholarship he gets and goes ahead on his own merits, when it is said that there is no salvation without education. I gave my nod to the film because I liked the content. Moreover, I would get a chance to play a central role in it."

"In Three Idiots I was a young man who had just entered puberty, in Dharamveer I was Dighe Saheb's childhood friend, while in Maharashtra Shaheer I played Balasaheb Thackeray's youth. Now I will be playing the role of a responsible teacher in 'Shishyavrtti'. I also have a different getup for this. Soon he will come before you. The scholarship movie will be released in the month of June" Dushyant added.

The movie also stars Kamlesh Sawant, Aniket Kelkar, Uday Sabnis, Anshuman Vikhare in pivotal roles.
