Deo revealed the same on his social media. In his post, he requested his fans and to pray for the well-being of the senior actress. He wrote, "My mother Shrimati. Seema Deo doyen of

film industry is suffering from Alzheimer’s we the entire Deo family have been praying for her well being wish whole of Maharashtra who loved her so much also pray for her well being," (sic). Needless to say, soon best wishes started pouring in from all quarters.

Thanking all Ajinkkya later tweeted, "I on behalf of the entire Deo family Thank you all for your good wishes and blessing for Aai... prayers go up blessings come down thanks all," (sic).

Both Seema Deo and husband Ramesh Deo are highly revered as actors in the Marathi film industry. The couple who are married for over five decades now have done some notable work predominantly in Marathi cinema. They have also made their strong presence felt in Hindi films including in Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna starrer 'Anand'. In Marathi, the 78-year-old actress has acted in 'Vardakshina', 'Te Mazhe Ghar', 'Jagachya Pathivar', 'Haa Mazha Marg Eklaa', 'Prapanch' etc. She produced a Marathi movie in 1987, titled 'Sarja', which is based on a novel Shelar Khind by Marathi writer Babasaheb Purandare. Ajinkkya had played the titular role in the same. The film had won a National Award for best feature film in Marathi.

Her younger son Abhinay Deo is popular filmmaker and screenwriter known for Hindi films such as 'Delhi Belly', 'Force 2', 'Blackmail' and 'Game'.
