Marathi actress Veena Jamkar is on a roll. After having won the best actress award for her amazing portrayal in International Indian Festival of South Africa at Johannesburg, the actress has proved it once again that talent travels beyond boundaries.
Tapaal, which is the first presentation by Maitreya Mass Media, has been directed by Lakshman Utekar. Wooing the cinegoers with her strong and powerful acting, Veena Jamkar has played the role of Tulsa- a postmaster's wife- with aplomb in this film.

Needless to say, she has earned an international fame with this award.
Veteran actor Mohan Agashe has won the best actor award for his film Astu at the fest. At IFSA, awards are given to films made in 15 different languages of Indian origin.The festival is basically organised to strengthen the bond between India and South Africa. This accolade won by Tapaal is a mater of pride for the entire state of Maharashtra. Instead of regular, masala commercial films aimed at making quick money, films like Tapaal set new standards in filmmaking. The film has also won laurels in the 12the Pune International Film Festival. The film has also been selected for 44th international film festival, Indian Panorama. It has also made its presence felt in film festival circuits in Sydney, Los Angeles, Italy, Germany and China.
