Mangesh Kadam: Theatre taught me to be more empathetic towards human
Mangesh Kadam
who has dedicated his life for the theatre industry as an actor and director for 30 years is happy that auditoriums in Maharashtra are now open. Though it will take some more time due to SOPs and other processes to stage any play in auditoriums, all preparations for it are going on. On Marathi Rangabhumi Din, Mangesh Kadam shares about his favorite plays and about the future of Marathi theatre.Wada Chirebandi
’ as his most favorite play.There are many things actor, directors learn from the industry. Mangesh also has learnt sharing about the greatest thing he has learnt from the plays is empathetic behavior towards human beings. “The play taught me how to look at human beings. It made me more empathetic towards them.”
Though the uncertain time due to pandemic stopped the shows of the plays, the director is firm believer that the theatre industry is never going to die. “Drama takes place in two spaces at the same time, one on the stage where actual action takes place and another in audiences’ mind.”
