To save the industry from difficulties result of lockdown result of Covid19 pandemic situation, 25 members of Marathi industry belonging to theatre, films and television reached out to Maharashtra CM
Uddhav Thackeray. They to discuss on the resumption of work.
Along with Subodh Bhave and Aadesh Bandekar, who initiated the meeting, Ratnkant Jagtap, Prasad Kambli of Natya parishad along with
Satish Rajwade, Mukta Barve, Sameer Vidwans, Avadhoot Gupte, Nikhil Sane, Hemant Dhome attended this virtual meeting with the CM.
From talking about helping the backstage crew, folk artistes to what guidelines to follow while resuming post production work and shoots, there were several important points that were put forth during this two-hour long meeting
Theaters are closed due to the pandemic situation so the shooting. Though CM has requested the fraternity members to ensure that no film shoots take place near the containment zones. but there is no hopes to opening of the theatres to conduct play soon.
Ratnkant Jagtap, active member of Natya Parishad said, "Along with resuming of shoots, resuming of plays was also discussed. but CM highlighted that there is no possibility of opening of theatre for play anytime soon. Later we also presented some issues faced by the backstage artistes due to lockdown. We also asked for alternate jobs for these theatre backstage artistes. Theatre companies are also paying rents for the storage of sets which runs into lakhs. So we asked for the help regarding the same too. The loans taken by producer and others are the diferent issue altogether. CM has noted down all the points and have promised to look into it."
