Bunty Bains escapes gunfire attack; police investigate extortion threat - Read details

Renowned Punjabi composer and lyricist Bunty Bains narrowly dodged a potential threat as gunshots were fired at the restaurant where he was dining with his family and friends in Mohali, Punjab. The incident happened at Katani Premium Dhaba in Sector 79.

The mishappening took place merely 30 minutes after Bunty Bains shared a glimpse of him and his loved ones dining at the restaurant on his social media story. Fortunately, Bunty and his companions had left the restaurant before the gunfire erupted.

ADGP Jaskaran Singh commented on the incident, suggesting a potential link to extortion. A comprehensive police investigation is now underway to unravel the motives behind the attack and ensure the safety of the Punjabi artist.



Speaking to India Today, he disclosed that a formal complaint has been filed regarding the attack. Shockingly, the threats did not end with the gunfire. Bunty revealed that he subsequently received a menacing phone call demanding ₹1 crore. The caller warned of severe consequences, including harm to Bunty's life, if the extortion demands were not met.

The threat was allegedly made in the name of Lucky Patial, a notorious gangster believed to operate from Canada. Lucky Patial is reported to have affiliations with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Bambiha gangs, introducing elements of organized crime into the incident.
