Two of Punjab’s A-listers who were also the first ones to debut in Bollywood from Punjabi industry,
Diljit Dosanjh and
Gippy Grewal are soon going to collide at the Box Office. Both actors, coincidentally, have done a war film depicting Sikh soldiers, and both these respective films are set to release within a few days of each other. While Diljit’s film
Sajjan Singh Rangroot
is opening in theatres on March 23, Gippy’s is following close on its heels, on April 6. And interestingly, both these films are gathering rave reviews from pre-promotions and trailers. Diljit’s film is based on Sikh soldiers who fought from small villages and pockets of Punjab in Word War I. The film’s cinematography is capturing eyeballs for its similarities with Hollywood war film,
Dunkirk
. On the other hand, Gippy’s film is moving viewers with its war action, rallying war cries of one solider Joginder Singh who fought in Indo-China war of 1962.
Saif Ali Khan Health Update
So, are the two actors nervous about being compared to this war at the Box Office? Not if you ask Diljit. In a recent interview to us, responding to this question, Diljit said, “More the merrier. Why should I fear comparison with his film? After all, he is one of us. It is a good thing that more people are joining this genre. Comparisons are anyways inevitable because there are only those many number of multiplexes and audiences are also same in number But I am not afraid that my film is competing with someone else’ film.”
