Diljit Dosanjh takes a jibe at the Telangana legal notice at the Hyderabad concert: 'When an artist from your own country is singing, people have problems'
With fame comes responsibility, rumors, and sometimes legal notices. Something similar happened with Diljit Dosanjh recently. Ahead of his performance at Hyderabad as a part of his Dil-Luminati India tour, Diljit Dosanjh was served with a legal notice from the Telangana government asking him not to sing any song that promotes gun culture, violence and any sort of substance abuse. The singer made sure to do the same, even tweaking the lyrics of his song which left the audience in his concert and online in splits. At the same time, the singer took a jibe at the warning.
“When artists come here from other countries, they are allowed to do whatever they want… But when an artist from your own country is singing, people have problems," Diljit said during his concert. The video of the artist saying this has gone viral on social media.
The Legal Notice
The notice was issued by the District Welfare Officer of the Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens, Rangareddy. It warned the ‘5 Taara’ fame singer not to perform songs that promote the use of drugs, alcohol, or in any way talk of violence. He was also told not to use children during his show.
In addition, the notice talked about the harmful effects of loud sounds and light flashes on kids.
