Punjabi actress Mandy Takhar is eagerly looking forward to celebrating Diwali this year. Having begun preparations a week ahead, like cleaning the house, adding festive décor, Mandy says the fun part for her is also the shopping for gifts for family, friends and herself. Excerpts:
'Diwali creates everlasting memories'
Diwali is dedicated to loved ones, family and friends, which is always heart-warming. It gives us all an opportunity to build stronger bonds and create everlasting memories.
'Gifting on Diwali is a must'
I find the gifting part is an absolute must! Exchanging gifts is always a celebrated occasion during Diwali and one that I indulge in sincerely. One of my favourite things on Diwali is making rangoli for my porch, cleaning the entire house, going to the gurdwara, meeting friends and family and binging on lots of mithai (smiles). I love decorating my home traditionally in jot, diyas, rangoli, and flowers.

Diwali sales are so tempting. I feel we all spend a little extra during this festival, pampering not just our loved ones, but also ourselves.
