May 24th marks the birth anniversary of one of the
Sikh revolutionaries
Kartar Singh Sarabha
. He was merely 17 years old when he joined of
Ghadar Party
and became one of the freedom fighters. Recalling him, Pollywood actor
Jobanpreet Singh took to his social media handle to share a heart touching message and picture.
In the picture it's written, "Shaheed jaag di koma da sarmaya hunde ne. Choti umar de komi shaheed de jnm din di bhut bhut mubarak." (Martyr are the savers of the religion, happy birthday to the one who became a martyr at a young age.)
Further, in the caption, Jobanpreet wrote, “Desh di azaadi lyi fasi da fanda hass k galle pa leya is yodhe ne.. Aj da din 24 mai pind sarabha zila ludhiana vuch janame is mahan yodhe lyi mera sir jhukda h te jnm dia lakh lakh mubaraka” (For the freedom of the nation, he took the death rope with a smile. This day today, 24th May, I bow my head to the soldier who was born in district Sarabha, Ludhiana. Also lots of greetings for the birthday.)
Jobanpreet Singh is playing a pivotal role in the movie ‘Sarabha The
Cry For Freedom
’. It is a period drama, based on the Ghadar movement and the real-life story of Kartar Singh Sarabha.
Further, the movie has been directed by
Kavi Raj
, while Kuldeep Sharma, Sarbjit Hundal and Jatinder Jay Minhas have bankrolled the same. Earlier, the movie was scheduled to hit the big screens today, on May 24th - the birth anniversary of the Kartar Singh Sarabha but due to some reasons, the same has been pushed forward. A new release date is now awaited.
