Punjabi director Jagdeep Sidhu mourns late poet Imroz aka Inderjeet; confesses that it was the poet’s love story that inspired him for a scene in ‘Qismat 2’

The artistic world mourns the loss of Inderjeet aka Imroz, a poet whose verses continue to echo in the hearts of admirers. Imroz's demise leaves a void in the literary landscape, but his profound contributions to poetry endure as a timeless legacy. In a poignant expression of grief, Punjabi director Jagdeep Sidhu mourns the loss of the late poet.

Sharing a monochrome picture of Imroz with the love of his life Amrita Pritam, Jagdeep Sidhu penned a touching caption pouring his heart out. In the post, he mentioned how he made a scene of ‘Qismat 2’ by getting inspired by the tale of Imroz and Amrita.



The director further mentioned that after the demise of Amrita, Imroz was all alone. Back in the day, Amrita used to say a few words, “We would unite, and we would meet, I don’t know how, but we are destined to be together.” Now that Imroz has left the mortal world, Jagdeep believes, he and Amrita will finally unite.

Inderjeet, known by the alias Imroz, departed at the age of 97. For the unversed, his prominence grew through his enduring connection with Amrita Pritam. Although the two never tied the know, they shared a devoted live-in relationship that spanned four decades.
