Rajat Bedi to bring his granddad's works to Punjabi cinema

Actor Rajat bedi, who is grandson of

Urdu

writer, film director, playwright, and screenwriter,

Rajinder Singh Bedi

, is looking to turn the works of his grandfather into Punjabi films. Rajat disclosed that his grandfather has left his works with them and are untouched.
“All these will be done in Punjabi and Hindi soon. 1986 film,

Ek Chadar Maili Si

was an adaptation of dada ji’s Urdu novel. And it was a great success. Soon, you will get to see his works being used to create Punjabi films. And for that the work is already on,” he adds. Rajat added that he's proud of the legacy of the Bedi family (besides his dada, his dad Narendra Bedi too was a literary figure). While Rajat recently reconnected with his Punjabi roots through a Punjabi film, which is directed by Smeep Kang, he's looking to spend more time here. "Once things get normal, I will visit Punjab and stay there for long."
