Sameksha takes acting break after marriage, turns director

Actor Sameksha who recently got married to singer and industrialist Shael Oswal, is taking a sabbatical from acting and focusing on directing films for some time.

Punjabi and Hindi actor, Sameksha is taking a sabbatical from acting for a while after her recent marriage to singer and industrialist, Shael Oswal. Chandigarh born Sameksha has done five Punjabi films like, 'Lucky Di Unlucky Story', 'Jatts In Golmaal', 'Kirpan', 'Fateh' and 'Vaapsi'. Having featured in Shael's music video, Sameksha and Shael fell in love and decided to get married in Singapore where Shael is based for his business and was shooting the song in that country.

Speaking to ETimes, Sameksha says, "I just directed the song 'Tere Naal', which Shael and I shot in the lockdown all on our own from our home with assistance from our domestic help. I am off acting assignments as of now as I want to concentrate on direction and on my script writing." Sameksha, who also did the TV show, Porus directed two short films, 'Love Me Not' and 'Dyed Love'. "The films will be doing the rounds of film festivals around the world as soon as the world opens up from this pandemic," she says.
With her husband Shael also running a production company started by his father, the late industrialist from Ludhiana, Abhay Kumar Oswal, Sameksha intends taking over its functioning during her sabbatical from acting. 'Tere Naal' is Sameksha's second song with Shael with the first being, 'Makhmaali Pyar', which was shot last year.
Besides films, Sameksha has also done TV with shows like 'Porus'. 'P.O.W', '21 Sarfarosh- Saragarhi' and the comic sitcom, 'Khichdi'.
