Sonam Bajwa has become the recent victim of
cyber bullying. On Thursday, the actor reported to
Instagram that “some accounts have created fake Insta chats of me chatting with them”. Referring to this
cybercrime
, Sonam told us, “I think it all started because few months ago I reported one of the pages that made very nasty memes. I don’t think those memes were funny, they were made to degrade people. The page was taken down and to avenge themselves some of these accounts ganged up and started creating
fake conversations
of me trying to beg their apology, and showing me as saying ‘please don’t ruin my reputation, don’t put up these chats etc’.” Calling this a new low in humanity, Sonam says though people are smart enough to distinguish between fake and authentic, she said, “This is not acceptable.” She added, “If this can happen to me, it must be happening to several other girls, and even boys.”
Sonam received huge online support from her followers who reposted her post. “It’s time to report such accounts rather than ignore them and think they will just go away. We have to stop cyber bullying.”
Sonam is waiting for the
social networking service
to act on her complaint.
