Varinder Ghuman's bhog and antim ardaas: Late Punjabi actor, professional bodybuilder's family arranges for prayer meet

Punjab lost several stars in the past few days, one of them was the actor and professional bodybuilder Varinder Ghuman. Passed away earlier this month after a cardiac arrest, Varinder Ghuman’s family has scheduled bhog and antim ardaas to honor the late star on October 23. In a social media post shared on Ghuman’s official handle, the family has shared details.

The post shared for Varinder Ghuman's bhog and antim ardaas reads, “With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we inform you that our beloved Varinder Singh Ghuman, who on 9th October 2025 (Thursday) departed for his heavenly abode, completing his life's journey. For the eternal peace of his soul, The Shri Sehal Paath Sahib, bhog and antim ardaas will be held on 23rd October 2025 (Thursday) from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.


The venue of the prayer meet is stated on the post as well - Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Model House.


"The grieving family, friends & relatives cordially invite you to join in," concluded the post.

Salman Khan mourned Varinder Ghuman

The entire nation expressed grief over Ghuman’s demise. Salman Khan, with whom Varinder worked in ‘Tiger 3’, also mourned his passing. Taking to X (formerly called Twitter), Salman Khan wrote, “Rest in peace praa. Vil misses paaji.”

Hospital’s statement on Varinder Ghuman’s demise

A day after the 42-year-old actor’s demise, Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar, issued a statement stating Varinder Ghuman’s cause of death. “Varinder Singh Ghuman was evaluated in the OPD on October 6 for pain and restricted movement in his right shoulder. Following clinical assessment, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair with biceps tenodesis was advised. The patient had no known comorbidities,” read the statement.

It added that the actor “underwent the planned procedure under general anesthesia on October 9. The surgery was uneventful and was completed around 3 PM with stable vital parameters throughout.”

However, at approximately 3:35 PM, Ghuman developed a sudden cardiac arrhythmia. “The anesthesia, cardiology, cardiac anesthesia, and critical care teams immediately initiated advanced resuscitation measures. Despite sustained and coordinated efforts, the patient could not be revived and was declared dead at 5:36 PM,” the statement continued.

“Fortis Hospital deeply regrets this unfortunate loss and extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and his numerous fans,” concluded the hospital.
