From popular artists making a come back to new projects being launched, a lot of things from the world of Punjabi cinema and music made it to the headlines this week. Diljit Dosanjh gave a kick-start to the weekend by releasing his highly anticipated songs ‘Putt Jatt Da’. Packed with fun lyrics and upbeat music the song has a groovy feel to it. Ikka penned the track and Archie Muzik composed the same and rap to it has been given by Kaater. Directed by Keoni Marcelo, the video showcases the songster Diljit Dosanjh enjoying all the lavishness of the world. This is the second song after ‘Pagal’ that Diljit Dosanjh has released in the same month.

After a break of four years, Yo Yo Honey Singh is ready to make a comeback in the industry with his latest single. Though the artist kept on giving music to various Bollywood and Pollywood movie songs, his own single didn’t make it to the charts in the last four years. Recently, he took it to his social media handle and shared the first look of his upcoming single. The exact release date of the same has been kept under wraps.

Singer-actor Kulwinder Billa has been turning heads off late. Earlier it was the release of his debut movie as lead ‘Parahuna’ that kept him in the headlines and now, it’s his song ‘Light Weight’ that garnered attention. The song is a fun romantic track, packed with bhangra beats and western music. The lyrics to the same has been given by Kaptaan and Mix Singh worked on the music.

‘Laatu’ is a Manav Shah film, whose trailer was released this Friday. Starring Gagan Kokri and Aditi Sharma in the lead, the movie is a romantic comedy set in the bygone era. It’s the debut movie of singer Gagan Kokri. The story is about Gagan Kokri who in order to win the love of his life Aditi Sharma, struggles to bring electricity to his village. Besides the pain of running through government offices, he also faces a competition from another man in power who sends a marriage proposal for Aditi. The movie is slated to come out this November on 16th.

‘Chchalle Mundiyaan’ is scheduled to release in 2019, and the shooting of the same went on the floors this week. The movie is from the genre of romantic comedy. Helmed by Sunil Puri (Pali), the movie stars Ammy Virk, Mandy Takhar, Kulwinder Billa, Sonia Kaur, Nisha Bano, Karamjit Anmol and B.N. Sharma. The shoot location is Napa, Patiala. The exact release date of the project is yet to be out.

Another movie whose shoot went on the floors this week is ‘Band Vaaje’. Slated to release on March 15, 2019, the movie stars Binnu Dhillon, Mandy Takhar, Gurpreet Ghuggi and Jaswinder Bhalla. The movie is being bankrolled by Jatinder Shah and Pooja Gujral. ‘Band Vaaje’ is reportedly a complete family entertainer.
