Deedar Kaur on her sister Asees Kaur’s wedding: Someone even played her vidaai song (Babul Da Vehda) loud on speakers and then our tears went uncontrollable - Exclusive
Punjabi singer Asees Kaur, who made a name for herself in the Bollywood world as well, got married in an intimate ceremony this month. She tied the knot with the love of her life Goldie Sohel according to the Sikh rituals. Talking about the wedding, Asees Kaur’s sister Deedar Kaur in her exclusive conversation with us mentioned, “We wanted to keep it a very intimate kind of ceremony. Nothing to do with the trend though; just kept it calm, cozy, and happening.”
There are various other things that Deedar told us that highlighted the emotional saga that went behind Asees Kaur’s wedding.
Here are the excerpts:
The preparations
“Ahh! Though it’s just always a 2/3 day affair it took us 3/4 months for the prep & the day next to the wedding, we felt - ‘Oh! Baki sab to theek hai, behen bhi gayi?’ I, Mom, and Dad have closely seen and arranged every little and big thing for this day.”
“Meanwhile, I also felt - I can be a wedding planner too,” added Deedar Kaur with a chuckle in her voice.
The celebration that went beyond just the wedding day
“Not just the wedding day, we have been celebrating this day even 40 days before the wedding! Every evening my sister Prabhjee would plug in the BT setup and make the hall a DJ floor with non-stop 40 mins of dance! This was Prabhjee’s routine of irritating everyone and especially Gucci. He would say it, ‘bas kar behen, baaki ka shadi pe naach liyo!’. You know how mad Punjabi Beats are, we would light up the house and the energy every evening,” expressed Deedar.
Vidaai
“Vidaais are really teary and this is the real first wedding of our family and the feeling of not seeing Asees every now and then, made us all teary. We all were so emotional. Don’t know who, but someone even played Asees’s vidaai song (Babul Da Vehda) loud on speakers and then our tears went uncontrollable,” mentioned the singer recalling the vidaai of Asees Kaur.
Deedar Kaur on missing Asees Kaur
“Asees isn’t just my sister. She has been my first love since childhood. I didn’t have to wait for ‘vidaai’ to feel that she is a lil far from me. Just from the day, she got ‘rokafied’, I started missing her more each day and of course ‘vidaai’ was the finale. She is my TV partner, my dining partner, and my first bond. I do really miss her,” mentioned the singer talking about her sister.
“Although I don’t know if she also misses me the same as Jiju is taking good care of her,” said Deedar with a giggle.
