Pankaj Udhas, a luminary in the realm of ghazals, embarked on his musical odyssey in 1980 with the release of his debut album 'Aahat.' Venturing beyond the realms of ghazals, Udhas made his foray into Indian cinema with a noteworthy work in Mahesh Bhatt's 'Naam' in 1986.
While the singer gained acclaim for his soul-stirring Hindi compositions like 'Chitthi Aayee Hai,' 'Na Kajare Ki Dhaar,' and 'Ahista,' there exists a lesser-known gem in his discography. In 1993, he pleasantly surprised his fans with the release of a Punjabi album titled 'Baisakhi,' comprising seven enchanting tracks - 'Chalojee Bhangra Payiye,' 'Mera Ishq,'Kisi Ne Meri Jaan,' 'Ek Soni Jayee Kudi,' 'Meri Tauba Da,' 'Tu Menu Mukane,' 'Baisakhi' and 'Chandra Ishq Bada Harjai.'
