NOTeven in her wildest dreams would Shirin have imagined bagging a project during apromotional event. But thats what happened when she was promoting herrecently released Yogi. I read about Nikita Thukral not being a part AK56 just a few days ago. Now, the role has fallen into my lap, she says, adding, I think Omprakash found me a bundle of energy during the eventand he must have thought Id fit the role, shereasons.Nikita walked out of the film as she didnt want tokiss a newcomer, especially since she thought the script didnt demand it.I know Nikita and was quite surprised that she opted out of the film.Omprakash told me about his disagreement with her and even said shed bein his next project, says Shirin. How does Shirin feel about kissinga newcomer? Its the directors vision. I think a kissingscene is necessary to depict a couples love for each other, shesays. But this wont be Shirins first on-screen kiss.Shes done it in her first Tamil film, Thulluvatho Ilamai, anddoesnt consider it a bold move. Our audiences wantto watch realistic cinema. A kiss will be considered bold only when it is forcedinto the subject, she says.
As she starts shooting for AK 56from tomorrow, Shirins happy about getting noticed after Yogi. Iwas appreciated for my performance. Ill use this opportunity before Ihead to do my Bollywood film next year, shesays.IT seems Raginis loss is Madalsas gain. The team of the Kannada remake of Shauryam, including film-makers Gangadhar and Basavaraj, and director Sadhu Kokila have been on the lookout for a heroine ever since its previous leading lady Ragini Dwivedi was ousted from the Darshan-starrer last month. So, is Madalsa Sharma aware that she has replaced the Veera Madakari heroine? Yes. Apparently, shed done an item number in another film (Gokula), which didnt go down well with Darshan. Also, the makers wanted a fresh face and I fit the bill, she says, adding, I have no issues being a replacement. If not Ragini, then me whats wrong with that? While shes done aTelugu film Fitting Master with Allari Naresh and has two moreTamil films, including one with Bharath, this is Madalsas firstSandalwood film. Being a Mumbai girl, the language is definitely abarrier. Be it Tamil, Telugu or Kannada, I rely heavily on prompting and muggingmy dialogues. But Im trying to grasp the nuances of the language, soIm sure Ill be able to mouth them on my own soon, sheconfesses. But Madalsa was floored by Darshan when she met himrecently. Hes really tall that was my first impression ofhim, laughs Madalsa. And hes a really nice guy and we gottalking during the photoshoot, she adds. The actress says shewatched the Telugu version starring Anushka yesterday. The director saiditll help me understand the character better, Madalsa tellsus.
