Despite the tension in their marital life, actor Darshan and his wife Vijayalakshmi are now apparently trying to resolve their issues. But actor Nikitha Thukral, whose alleged affair with Darshan is believed to be the root cause of the tension between the couple, is still reeling from the aftereffects of Darshan’s outburst against his wife.
Nikitha, who has been banned from Sandalwood for three years by the Karnataka Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) for her role in the Darshan fiasco, is in shock over the decision.
“I’m not yet married. Who will marry me after reading these reports, which are baseless and untrue?” asks Nikitha.
The actor insists that the recent incident between Darshan and his wife arose solely due to family problems and that she has no idea why she is being dragged into the whole episode. “The KFPA has taken a drastic decision of banning me without a second thought about the impact on my life. Why should they punish me? Is it because I’m an outsider? Does the KPFA have proof that I have had an affair with Darshan? Show me the proof of my liaison with Darshan and I will quit this industry,” says Nikitha.
The actor is now all set to seek help from the Director’s Association, senior industry members like MS Ramesh and Ambareesh, as well as the Karnataka State Women’s Cell to get justice. “Is there justice in punishing me without any reason? I want Darshan and Vijayalakshmi to tell the public the truth. They are married and have a child. I was always only a friend to Darshan and Vijayalakshmi knows that too,” says the actor, adding that she used to spend hours talking to the couple when she met them earlier.
Nikitha now intends to fight the ban. “People should know the facts. Some producers and directors, who know the truth, have been sympathetic towards me. I have to fight for myself, but I’m not giving up,” she signs off.

Despite a call by the Karnataka Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) to ban actor Nikitha Thukral from Sandalwood for three years, it appears that she may have the last laugh. Calling the KFPA’s decision a big joke, several producers are looking to cast the actor in their forthcoming projects.
AMR Ramesh, the producer and director of the under production Veerappan Attahasa, is interested in offering Nikitha the role of a journalist in his film. “We are currently shooting for the film at the Male Mahadeswara Peta in Mysore. I really don’t care about the ban. If Nikitha is willing to take up the role, I will defy the association and sign her up for the film,” says Ramesh.
Director-producer Raveendra (of I Am Sorry... Mathe Banni Preethsona fame) also wants Nikitha to be a part of his next film, Kettavanu. The film, he says, will have an ensemble cast with three heroes, and Raveendra is hopeful that Nikitha will come on board as one of the heroines. “The decision to ban Nikitha is a big joke. Sensible people will not do that. I am ready to sign her up if she agrees,” says Raveendra. Producer K Manju too had voiced his willingness to cast the beleaguered actor in a future project.
