Star Jalsha, the forerunner in Bengali GEC space, has given its audience great stories and unique content, be it fiction or non-fiction.
Keeping up to this promise, Star Jalsha is all set to roll the ball of entertainment with the concept of “Dupurer Jalsha”. It will refresh the monotonous afternoons as it extends the prime time to noon with three new shows, “Tapur Tupur”, “Tomar Jonney” and “Shukher Ghore Star”, starting from February 14, between 2 pm and 3.30 pm, Monday through Saturday.
The three new shows promise to deliver entertainment, through which the woman at home can identify herself with the characters and relate to her routine life easily.

While the woman is busy throughout the morning with household chores and the evening prime time quietly slips into the hands of her children, husband or other family members, “Dupurer Jalsha” is something tailor-made for her. Jalsha characters in this slot reflect the woman in you and effortlessly entangle you in their stories. “Dupurer Jalsha” will surely add a spark to the afternoon telecast of programmes and keep you wanting for more.
“Tapur Tupur”, directed by Anup Chakraborty, is a tale of two sisters who are diametrically opposite characters. Tapur is the sole bread earner for the family and she is mature and idealistic. Tupur is restless and craves for fame and wealth. Tupur left the house and her family to seek her fortune. Then one day, she makes a flashy comeback and is embraced by her parents who once had refused to acknowledge her for her wrongdoings. Tapur is left wondering if love could be blinded by the glint of gold. The two sisters arrive at a juncture where a battle of values, ideals and morals will ensue and the two stand against each other for their respective beliefs.Produced by Blues, the show has been shot extensively in Kolkata and boasts of the best of photography by PB Chaki. Music is by Snehashish Chakraborty. The show has Sandipta Sen and Ananya Biswas as the lead, Tapur and Tupur, respectively and many other acclaimed actors.
