'Demonte Colony 2' box office collection day 11: Arulnithi's film zooms past Rs 30 crore

'Demonte Colony', the successful horror drama, received a sequel with the release of its second installment on August 15. Director Ajay Gnanamuthu reunited with actor Arulnithi for 'Demonte Colony 2' and brought together an intriguing new cast for this horror thriller. Although 'Demonte Colony 2' had a modest start, it quickly gained momentum, turning into a box office sensation after the first weekend. The film has consistently earned higher numbers each day. According to Cinetrak, 'Demonte Colony 2' grossed approximately Rs 3 crore in Tamil Nadu on day 11, bringing its total collection in the state to over Rs 25 crore. The film's global collection is estimated to be around Rs 31 crore in 11 days, although its performance outside Tamil Nadu has been weaker. The Telugu version of 'Demonte Colony 2', which was released a week after the original, reportedly earned around Rs 3 crore in the first three days from the Telugu states.

'Demonte Colony 2' has outperformed the other two films, 'Thangalaan' and 'Raghu Thatha', which were released alongside the horror thriller on Independence Day. After his previous release failed to impress, director Ajay Gnanamuthu has surprised fans with 'Demonte Colony 2', effectively connecting the sequel with the prequel. The film features Priya Bhavani Shankar, Archana Ravichandran, Meenakshi Govindarajan, Sarjano Khalid, and Muthu Kumar in significant roles, with Sam CS composing the music for this horror film.
