'Maharaja' box office collection day 9: Vijay Sethupathi's emotional thriller peaks well

Vijay Sethupathi starrer 'Maharaja' was released in theaters on June 14, and the film was released in Tamil and Telugu. Receiving positive reviews from critics and audiences, 'Maharaja' got a good start at the box office, and it turned out to be Vijay Sethupathi's quickest film to reach the 50-crore mark. 'Maharaja' is earning solid responses all over, and the film peaked well at the box office on its second Saturday. According to a trade report from Sacnilk, 'Maharaja' grossed around Rs 7 crore worldwide on its ninth day, while around Rs 5.5 crore has come from the domestic region. The overall collection of 'Maharaja' stands at around Rs 69 to 70 crore, and the film is positioned to have another strong day at the box office as the tickets are filling fast for the film on day 10.

'Maharaja' is set to breach the 50-crore mark in Tamil Nadu by today, as the film's collection stands close to Rs 48 crore in the home state. Both Tamil and Telugu versions of 'Maharaja' are doing well, and the film receiving appreciation from several cinema stars hyped the audience well.

Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, 'Maharaja' features Vijay Sethupathi in an elderly role as a father of two daughters, and the film revolves around the mystery 'Who is Lakshmi?'.
