'Vettaiyan' featuring Rajinikanth in the lead role has arrived in theatres today (Oct 10), and the film has been released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages. 'Vettaiyan' is off to a lavish start as Rajinikanth's film always does. It's one more $1 million film for the Superstar Rajinikanth in the North American premiere. According to Cinetrak, 'Vettaiyan' grossed around $1.1 million from the North American premiere, and it splits between $900K from USA and around $220K from Canada. But 'Vettaiyan' failed to beat the North American premiere collection of Vijay's 'GOAT', which was released a month back.
'Vettaiyan' is receiving positive reviews from fans, while the cop-thriller looks like a decent watch for the general audience. However, Rajinikanth's latest release is positioned to climb well at the box office across locations. The opening day number for 'Vettaiyan' is anticipated to be around Rs 100 crore despite a working day release, and the reservations for the film looks strong for the upcoming days as the Dussehra holidays follow.
