5 times Kollywood stars surprised their co-stars with gifts

It is a known fact that an inspiring bonhomie exists between Kollywood actors. They praise each other and express gratitude whenever required, thus setting a good example for movie buffs and others. Some of them indulge in sweet gestures by giving away unexpected gifts to their co-stars. In fact, this practice existed from a long time in the industry. The shooting of Venkat Prabhu’s Maanaadu, one of the much-awaited films of the year, was wrapped up recently. Post the shooting which was held at Hosur, Simbu, who plays lead role in the film, gifted expensive watch to director Venkat Prabhu, the latter took to social media to thank the star for the gesture. He also shared a picture of the watch and tweeted, "Thank q @SilambarasanTR_ for all the love and support!! Thanks for the watch!!! #OurTimeStartsNow #MaanaaduWrapped thanks to my team!! Soon our #abdulkhaliq will be yours!! #maanaadu."

Cook with Comali and Super Singer fame Sivaangi, who gained a lot of fans in the recent times, received a sweet surprise on her birthday recently. She received a birthday cake saying "Happy birthday Thangachi" from Sivakarthikeyan. The excited Sivaangi posted the picture of the cake on her Instagram account with a caption, “Truly didn't expect this. Thank you Sivakarthikeyan anna.” Interestingly, she is also the co-star of Siva in the upcoming film Don. Her fans trended the hashtag #HBDShivangiMaa on Twitter on her special day which was like a cherry on the cake for her.

Director JJ Fredrick of Ponmagal Vandhal fame was elated when he received an unexpected gift from Jyotika and Suriya after the release of the film. They gifted him a Macbook Pro laptop, along with a couple of other gifts. The adorable couple of Kollywood also cut a cake with Fredrick and his wife to celebrate the response the film received from film buffs. The excited director tweeted, “#Jo Ma'am @Suriya_offl Sir. Thank u so much for the memorable gifts but the gift of knowing u is the best I've received so far. @rajsekarpandian Sir. Finally All ur unconditional Luv has made #PonmagalVandhal Victorious! Mere words will not suffice to express my gratitude.”

Vijay, who often surprises his crew members by giving gifts, had done the same after the wrap of Bigil’s shooting as well. The star gave away gold rings to around 400 members who worked for the film. Many from the team started posting the pics of the rings they received on their respective social media accounts. Actresses Varsha Bollamma, Reba Monica John and Gayatri Reddy among others expressed their happiness on receiving the unexpected gift from Vijay. Moreover, he is also said to have given personally signed football to those who acted as players in the film.

Parvati, who pulled off a notable role in Ajith-starrer Yennai Arindhaal, was more than happy to receive a special gift from Thala during the shooting of the movie. Ajith gifted her a life-size photograph of hers, and the actress still consider is as one of the best gifts she ever received. Later, she said, “Ajith sir is a great photographer and he likes to click pictures between shoots. He captured me in a very candid pose and I didn't even realise it. He got the black-and-white picture printed, framed and gifted it to me. I think the picture is a gesture of appreciation for my work. It definitely means a lot coming from him. Parvati has hung the photograph on the wall of her house.
