A film on FB's role in our lives

Director R Senthil Nadan, who made the horror thriller Sivi in 2007, is now back with Oru Mugathirai, which is said to be a psychological. 'It is a film where Facebook is both the hero and the villain. The story involves three tracks, each revolving around different characters, which come together in the interval,' says Senthil, who adds that he has tried to visually convey the transitions between the three tracks.

Actor Rahman, Aditi Gururaj, a Miss Mangalore, and a youngster named Suresh play the three crucial roles. 'Aditi is a college girl while Suresh plays an IT worker. Rahman will be seen in the role of a psychiatrist who becomes mentally disturbed,' reveals the director, who had approached three veteran actors for this role before finalising Rahman.

Prem Kumar, an associate of AR Rahman and a faculty in the Oscar winner's music conservatory, is scoring the music for the film, while Saravanapandian, who has shot several ad films, handles the cinematography. While the film's editing is by SP Ahmed, National Award-winner KL Praveen has cut the trailer for the film after being impressed with it. 'The first copy of the film is ready and we are releasing the audio on August 19,' informs Senthil.
