Choreographer Sridhar, who debuted as a hero with Pokkiri Mannan last year, is now turning director. He will be directing and starring in a film titled, Saavadi, on the street-racing scene in Chennai. I have been working on this project for the past seven years. The film is meant to create awareness on the dangers of this dangerous sport. It will talk about why youngsters get into street racing, how their families suffer and how the cops are trying to tackle this menace, says Sridhar, who has roped in over 40 real-life street racers to be part of this film.
Pravin Saivi of Super Singer fame is composing the music for the film, which stars Bangalore girl Shilpa as the heroine. Mottai Rajendran plays an important role. And four one-film-old heroes are also acting in this film. We are holding the puja today, adds Sridhar.
