A popular producer issues warning to Vignesh Shivan over using the 'LIC' title

Vignesh Shivan is one of the popular directors in Tamil cinema, and he named his next directorial as 'LIC' aka 'Love Insurance Corporation'. The upcoming film features Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles, and the film kick-started with a muhurat puja a few days back. But the film faces trouble right after its start as a popular producer issues a warning for Vignesh Shivan. Director-producer SS Kumaran has said that he had registered this title 'LIC' on behalf of Suma Pictures in 2015 and blamed Vignesh Sivan as his action is an act of crushing small producers.

SS Kumaran has alleged that he was approached by Vignesh Shivan's associates to give the title of the film, but the former refused to offer the title for the latter. Despite the denial, Vignesh Shivan has used 'LIC' as the title for his next, and it disturbed SS Kumaran. So he mocked Vignesh Shivan and said his action was authoritative. He also warned Vignesh Shivan that if he continues to use the title, he will be prosecuted according to the law.

So, we have to wait to see whether Vignesh Shivan's next will have a change in the title or if the director will sort out his issues with SS Kumaran to use the same title.


'Leo' producer is funding Vignesh Shivan's film with Pradeep Ranganathan, and the producer was earlier associated with the director for 'Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal'. SJ Suryah plays a crucial role in 'LIC', while Nayanthara is said to be playing Pradeep Ranganathan's elder sister in the film. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music, and the film's major shooting is to begin shortly.
