Aishwarya Rajinikanth's directorial 'Lal Salaam' might step back from Pongal release

Aishwarya Rajinikanth is making her directorial comeback with 'Lal Salaam' and the film has been announced to release in theatres for Pongal 2024. 'Lal Salaam' is set to take on Dhanush starrer 'Captain Miller' and Sivakarthikeyan starrer 'Ayalaan', and the upcoming clash of three biggies excited fans. But it looks like 'Lal Salaam' makers have decided to step back from Pongal release, and the film might be pushed to January 26. The postponement of 'Lal Salaam' will help 'Captain Miller' and 'Ayalaan' to have additional screens and it will also decrease the pressure on theatre owners since they might face a tough situation if three big films are released on the same occasion.

'Ayalaan' was earlier announced to release for Diwali 2023, but the film was then postponed to release for Pongal 2024. Whereas, 'Captain Miller' was announced to release on December 15, but the film has now been slated to release for Pongal. With two films already altered their release, 'Lal Salaam' will also be changing the release date, and let's wait for the makers to officially confirm the film's postponement.


Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, 'Lal Salaam' features Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles, and the sports drama is set in a cricket backdrop. To add power to her comeback directorial, Aishwarya Rajinikanth has added Rajinikanth in a crucial role, and it's going to be an extended cameo from the Superstar actor for a long time. AR Rahman is scoring the music, and the film is set to have a pan-Indian release.
