The protest against the ban on the bull taming sport Jallikattu only seems to be intensifying across the state of Tamil Nadu. Apart from several student groups and political parties joining the protest, members of the Tamil film industry have also lent their support towards lifting the ban. The peaceful movement which has spilt onto the streets seems to have intrigued Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap who is in the state to shoot his next ‘Imaikkaa Nodigal’.
According to reports, shooting for the film has been cancelled temporarily, until the issue in the state can be resolved. Unaware of the cause of the protests, the filmmaker took to Twitter to express his surprise saying, "The Jallikattu protest is massive.. never seen anything this massive and entirely a people's movement.. total bandy, shoot cancelled. And I had no idea what it is about. I want to find out."
The director turned actor will be seen playing an antagonist in the Atharvaa and Nayanthara starrer.
