Anushka Shetty keen on ‘Ghaati’-’Pushpa’ crossover, open to working with Prabhas if script is right - Deets inside

Anushka Shetty is gearing up for the release of her new movie ‘Ghaati’, set to hit theaters on September 5, 2025. Avoiding face-to-face interviews, she recently participated in a phone interview where she expressed her wish to see her ‘Ghaati’ character cross paths with Allu Arjun’s iconic role in ‘Pushpa’.

Desire for a crossover with Allu Arjun’s character
In an interview with Gulte, Anushka expressed her hope that a crossover between Allu’s ‘Pushpa’ and her film ‘Ghaati’ happens. She asked for someone to convey this idea to Sukumar, mentioning that it would be exciting to see these two characters come together. She described how bringing two characters from raw and rustic dramas into one story would be special and hoped that Sukumar garu would come up with something interesting. Comparing it to how superheroes do crossovers, she suggested that they could explore this concept as well.


Past collaborations with Allu Arjun
Anushka Shetty and Allu Arjun have collaborated on two films in their careers. Their first project together was the 2010 film ‘Vedam’, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. They later reunited on screen in the 2015 historical drama ‘Rudhramadevi’.

Interest in working with Prabhas again
Anushka also expressed that she genuinely wishes to work with Prabhas again, but feels it needs to be something equally impactful or new after ‘Baahubali’. She said that if both she and Prabhas like the script, they will collaborate together.

About ‘Ghaati’
‘Ghaati’ is a Telugu action crime movie starring Anushka Shetty. It tells the story of a woman from the Ghaati tribe, who is involved in growing and smuggling cannabis. After her partners betray her, she fights back and becomes a legend. Vikram Prabhu is the co-lead, and the film includes other actors like Jagapathi Babu and Jisshu Sengupta. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the movie was supposed to release in July 2025 but will now release on September 5, 2025.

Anushka’s Malayalam debut
On the work front, Anushka Shetty is preparing to make her first appearance in Malayalam cinema with the fantasy adventure film ‘Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer’.
