Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy’s 99 Songs

will have its world premiere at the 24th edition of the

Busan International Film Festival

in October.

The film, produced by legendary musician AR Rahman under the banner of

YM Movies

in association with Ideal Entertainment and Jio Studios will be screened in the A Window on Asian Cinema the fest on October 9 at the prestigious festival, which runs from October 3 to 12.

AR Rahman took to Twitter to announce the same. He wrote, ‘’ Thrilled to announce, our labour of love #99Songs, directed by @vishweshk starring @itsEhanBhat will be showcased at @busanfilmfest on October 9. Gratitude & thanks @YM_Movies @jiostudios @JioCinema @idealentinc #BIFF2019 #99SongsTheMovie’’.
To celebrate the festival premiere, the makers have also revealed a brand new look of the film on social media, which is expected to release later this year. The movie, according to the makers, will look the journey of a struggling singer how he faces problems in his quest to be a successful composer. Fresh faces

Vargas will be introduced in the movie as the lead pair.

99 Songs marks the television series director Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy’s debut in Hindi cinema as a feature film director. The film boasts of an ensemble cast including Tenzin Dalha, Aditya Seal, Lisa Ray, Manisha Koirala, Thomson Andrews, Ranjit Barot, Rahul Ram, Remo Fernandes, Ashwath Bhatt and Kurush Deboo among others. The film has music and script by AR Rahman.
