Kamal Haasan's psychological drama 'Aalavandhan' was released in 2001. The film was produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, and it did not make much noise when it was released. Later, the film became a classic, and in 2022, the actor's fans urged the makers to re-release it as the film was much more forward for its time in 2001, and that's why it did not succeed, and many added that if it had been released after 2017, it would have worked well.

Over the huge loss made by the film, Kamal Haasan and Kalaipuli Thanu had a rift, and now the two appear to have buried the hatchet as they came together for the centenary function held by the South Indian Touring Cinema Owners Association.

Many producers, actors, and directors came together to pay their respects and tribute to Ramanujam, who is known as the father of Indian cinema. Attending the event, Kamal Haasan and Kalaipuli S Thanu were seen exchanging pleasantries, and the producer even gave a momento to the actor.

The actor also thanked the producer, and addressing that crowd, Kamal Haasan said that the entertainment family is very small and they shouldn't fight with each other. He said that whatever the fights, debates, or problems there are, they should be done within a certain limit.

Earlier, Kalaipuli Thanu had said that the actor often changed the script of 'Aalavandhan' and shot over the budget that was allotted. In other news, Kamal Haasan is facing a legal issue with director Lingusamy, who produced the veteran actor's 'Uttama Villain'. The actor had compromised to incur the losses made by the movie but later did not follow the pact.
