Bala, Kamal influence Vivekh to take up serious role

Vivekh, who is playing the lead in Naan Than Bala, says that he is playing a serious role in the film, which is directed by R Kannan, an associate of director Bala. Interestingly, Bala had suggested Vivekh���s name for the role.
Says Vivekh, ���Kannan had narrated the script to Bala, who, in turn, had asked him which actor he had in mind for the lead role.When Kannan had replied that he was thinking of casting me, Bala told him that he too had only my name in mind when he heard the story.���
But the actor adds that he was still not convinced to do the role but Kamal Haasan made him re-think his decision. ���I had met Kamal at an event and when we were talking, he told me that having been in the industry for 23 years, I should try to branch out and do serious roles. ���People know you provide them comedy with a message. So, they will definitely accept you as a serious actor,��� he said, and I immediately realized that I should do this role,��� the actor reveals. About the role, he says, ���I play the priest of a Perumal temple at Kumbakonam. He gets into a relationship with a thug, and the movie is about who influences whom.���
