Boomerang, Sathru and Pottu among new Tamil releases to be leaked online

Piracy is the biggest threat to the film industry, and the who’s who of Kollywood have always voiced out their concern regarding films being leaked online or made available in DVD formats as soon as they hit screens. But nothing much seems to have changed, as week on week, new releases find their way on piracy sites. And the latest ones to join the list are Boomerang, Sathru and Pottu.
A source says, “Tamilrockers is a site that’s notorious for releasing new films online, and sometimes, even before it hits screens. Despite warnings from the film associations in Kollywood, including TFPC, the admins continue to leak new releases on their sites. The fact that they change the domain address quite frequently doesn’t help the cause, either. The recent films that have been found on the site include Atharvaa-starrer Boomerang, Kathir’s Sathru and Bharath’s Pottu.”
Boomerang, directed by Kannan, is about a youngster who fights for the rights of farmers. Apart from Atharvaa, it stars Megha Akash, Indhuja and RJ Balaji. Kathir, who was part of the critically acclaimed Pariyerum Perumal, plays a cop in Naveen Nanjundan’s Sathru. This film co-stars Srushti Dange. Bharath, after a long while, was seen in Pottu. A horror film, it’s directed by Vadivudayan and stars Ineya, Namitha and Srushti. All these films released on March 8, and were made available on the piracy site as soon as they released.
