Cheran talks about the uncertainty prevailing over opening of theatres

surprised people by taking part in Bigg Boss Tamil show. He received appreciation for his behaviour inside the house and he acted like a father figure to many youngsters in the house. The actor took to his social media handle to talk about the

theatres

being closed for five months due to the lockdown and the cinema industry incurring huge loss because of the coronavirus spread. He asked the fans if they would be willing to watch movies in theatre.

A number of films have released on OTT platforms and the audience are getting used to the concept of watching films on OTT platforms. Cheran posted, ‘சிவாஜி, எம் ஜி ஆர் என விசில் அடித்து படம் பார்த்து ரஜினி கமல் என கட் அவுட் வைத்து, விஜய் அஜித் என பாலாவிஷேகம் செய்து படம் பார்த்த அந்த திரையரங்க பிரமாண்டம் 5 மாதங்களாக முடங்கி கிடக்கிறது.நல்ல படங்கள் வெளியாகும்போது கொண்டாடி தீர்த்த மக்கள் கைபோனில் ஏதோ ஒரு மொழிப்படத்தை வெறித்து… பார்த்தபடி வியந்து கிடக்கிறார்கள். எதிர்கால திரையுலக பயணம் எந்த திசை என கணிக்க முடியாமல் குழம்பிக்கிடக்கிறது இண்டஸ்ட்ரி.. இதில் மக்களின் கருத்து என்ன.. அகன்ற திரையில் படம் பார்க்கும் உணர்வு மாறியிருப்பதை ஏற்கிறீர்களா..திரையரங்கம் மீண்டும் தொடங்க எத்தனை பேர் காத்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.’ (sic) which roughly translates to ‘Theatres wear a deserted look, people have been forced to watch films on their mobile phones. People in the film industry are clueless about the future of the industry, What is the opinion of people in this, Are you missing watching films in theatres.. How many of you are waiting for theatres to open.’
