The canapés-nibbling cliques are clamouring for an invitation to the unity and dignity celebration of cultural catalyst, Ranvir Shah and his gourmet-traveller wife, Nandi Shah.Planned in a picturesque location at Pondicherry, this do, we hear, is being meticulously planned by their loving kids who are so proud of Mom and Dad’s 30 years of togetherness. Nandi, who is an ardent baker, known for her orange-peel-and nutmeg-infused desserts, we are told, is baking a special treat for her loving husband Ranvir. We wish this vibrant duo as much happiness as they spread in this city.

The D connection?
DD, who is the darling of the classes and masses, is handling her much-talked about divorce with grace and dignity. If sources in the industry are to be believed her love turned out to be short-lived as a certain film director close to her hubby is said to be stage-managing some of the news by leaking uncalled for info. Now, don’t think of the obvious names, there are plenty of out-of-work directors out there.

One of Chennai’s sexiest grandmoms, Vimmi Deepak has been away on a holiday. The curvaceous and fit socialite known for her couture is enjoying the azure blue seas and caramelising her skin with a natural tan at Maldives.

A here-there-and-everywhere dude, quite famous for attending every do but never throwing one himself, A Mr ‘oh I am such a ladies man’ gent occupies so much of selfie space that the rest get nudged out by his unmatched aura, odour and presence! Last heard, he was seen chasing a pretty socialite around a party till she obliged for a photo.
Miniskirts after ‘men’-o-paus
This not-so-high-on-life, but more on wine, self-proclaimed queen bee of the social circuit has a nasty habit. She constantly passes comments on young women who are dressed well at social dos. Surrounded by men who are old enough to be Vietnam war veterans, this mop-cut maami doesn’t realise that her miniskirts have semi-comatosed her multiple drivers who refuse to turn up the next day to work. Last heard, she is even acting up with the acting drivers!
Antics of a has-been actress
A has-been C-grader actress threw a birthday bash. Guests revealed that aside from a grand fall by a drunk granny, there were plenty of antics on show by the hostess, who loves to do the snake dance. Perhaps, the lady, who is trying desperately for even mommy roles, tried to draw all her inspirations into one room. The lone current-generation actress who showed up was the cynosure of all eyes, including the thathas. A little birdie told us that the hostess haggled so hard with the hotel before paying up that they decided never to entertain her ever again.
The Lulla’s New Residence
Super car enthusiast Manoj Lulla gifted his family a beautiful home. The avid traveller and a man with an Italian marble-floored car garage, we hear, has customised his new home with hand-picked furniture from Milan. His friend, music Director Harris JAyaraj, and wife Suma are regulars, who love to chill with Manoj and family.
