Silambarasan joined hands with director Gautham Menon for the third time for 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu', and the film had its theatrical release in September 2023. 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' transformed into a huge hit, and the makers then locked in one more film with Silambarasan by paying Rs 1 crore in advance following the film's success. But the film failed to take off, and the makers filed a complaint against the actor to refund the advance payment. As 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' makers are getting on with the release of their next production venture, 'Singapore Saloon', they are involved in the promotions of the film.
During a YouTube interview, 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' producer Ishari Ganesh was asked about the conflict between the production house and Silambarasan. Ishari Ganesh then confirmed that they have sorted out their issues with Silambarasan, and the actor has returned the advancement payment to help the producer. Ishari Ganesh also assured that the production house will reunite with Silambarasan for sure and that the project will take off at the right time.
Silambarasan has announced his next film with Desingh Periyasamy, and the film has been tentatively titled 'STR 48'. After the release of 'Pathu Thala' in March 2023, Silambarasan has been on break for a year, and the dedicated actor has been in the process of sporting a stunning physical transformation for his role in the Desingh Periyasamy directorial.
