'Coolie' prefers an 8 week OTT window

According to Pinkvilla, the film 'Coolie' is planned to run in theaters for 8 weeks and then be released on OTT. It is also said that the deal for the OTT rights has been finalized with Amazon Prime Video. However, it is noteworthy that there has been no official announcement from the producer in this regard so far.

Lokesh Kangaraj assures a worthy film

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Lokesh Kanagaraj shared the moment Rajinikanth agreed to act in 'Coolie'. "I started narrating the story. After the break, I asked him - is this your style? Would you like to act in this film? He immediately said 'yes'. I hadn't even written the second half then," said Lokesh. Answering box office expectations of 'Coolie', Lokesh Kanagaraj keeps his focus away from box office numbers and assured fans that the action drama will be worth the amount they pay for their ticket.

A promising plot and cast

According to information released on the Letterboxd website, 'Coolie' centers on the story of a leader who once belonged to a terrorist gang.
Rajinikanth's character, Deva, uses a strategy of using antique gold watches to reunite his old gang. But, unexpectedly, Deva's old empire spirals out of control and begins to grow in a new direction.Rajinikanth starrer is scheduled to release on August 14, and the pan-Indian drama also has Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Bashir, Upendra, and Shruti Haasan among others in key roles with Aamir Khan in a cameo role. Anirudh Ravichander takes care of the film's music, and the grand audio launch of the film is scheduled to happen in the first week of August. Meanwhile. Lokesh's previous outing was Vijay's 'Leo'.
