Maha Gandhi, the man who attacked Vijay Sethupathi's team had filed a case against Vijay Sethupathi and his manager Johnson, alleging that he praised his cinematic achievements but refused to accept his congratulations and misrepresented his caste. In the petition,

alleged that Vijay Sethupathi's manager Johnson had assaulted him due to which his hearing ability had been affected because of it.
The petition came up for hearing in the Saidapet court. The judge had ordered Vijay Sethupathi and his manager Johnson to appear in court on January 4. Vijay Sethupathi hasn't spoken about the issue till now and has maintained silence.
