Balaji Mohan are once again joining hands for the upcoming gangster-comedy ‘
Maari 2
’, a sequel to the 2014 film of the same name.
According to latest reports, Dhanush injured his knee and left hand while filming an important climax sequence. However, reports suggest that the ‘Kolaveri’ star went ahead and shot the sequence despite his injury.
The makers are currently wrapping up the remaining portions of the film, which is expected to hit theatre screens later this year. Produced by Wunderbar Films, ‘Maari 2’ has Sai Pallavi playing the leading lady.

Tovino Thomas has been roped in to play the prime antagonist, while Varalaxmi Sarathkumar plays a pivotal role. The film also stars Vidya Pradeep, Rob Shankar and Kalloori Vinoth in supporting roles. Being directed by Balaji Mohan, the film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is teaming up with Dhanush after a long time.
On the work front, Dhanush awaits the release of the much-awaited gangster drama ‘
Vada Chennai
’, which is likely to release sometime in September. Directed by Vetri Maaran, the makers will unveil the theatrical trailer on July 28.
