In the film, ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’, Dhanush plays the character of a street magician and a trickster who tricks people into believing that he possesses special magic powers and tries to swindle them. The film is based on a novel by Romain Peurtolas titled The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe. The film was shot in India, France, Italy and Libya.
